Selection Mask

With a mouseclick you get a describtion of the screen item.
The Selection mask is the entry point to JESG. This mask allows the required Group entries to be selected (e.g. all Group-IDs on the PVS X).
The attribute on which the list should be sorted can be entered in the "SORT OPTION" field. For example, the list can be sorted in ascending order by Group-IDs, or by PVS, or in descending Pubspace Limit order.
Additional selection criteria can be specified in the "USER OPTION" field. The options specified here will determine the layout of the list.
A file name can be specified in the "DOCUMENTATION" field, to which the selected list will be saved, as well as being displayed on screen.
The last field in the Selection mask can contain a Variable Action. Variable Actions allow the user to define a complex processing instruction which can then be executed for multiple entries.
The pubsets available locally will be displayed in the system line (25th line), with the Home pubset being displayed first.

The results of the Selection will be displayed in this screen i.e. all those Group entries meeting the specified selection criteria.
The top of the mask contains the Command field. BS2000 and JESG-specific commands can be entered from here.
To the right of every Group entry there is an Action field. Action Codes, mnemonic abbreviations which perform some function on that particular Group entry, can be entered here.
By default, the Group list is sorted in ascending order on the Group description. A different sort order can be specified in the "SORT OPTION" field of the Selection mask.
The Group list can be displayed in different formats. The Group-specific standard format is described above. In addition to this list, there are Account-, Join- and SDF-Syntax-specific formats. The individual formats will be described in detail below.
