With a mouseclick you get a describtion of the screen item.
The selection mask is the opening screen of CFS. With this mask, those data objects that the user wishes to process are selected. The user chooses files, library elements or Job variables for display or further processing. The choice is made by specifying conditions which need to be fulfilled by the properties of the data objects (e.g. they must have been created today, they must occupy more than a certain amount of disc space, etc. ).
In the "SORT OPTION" field, the user may specifiy on which characteristic the file list should be sorted (e.g. in descending date order, and then by name, or in ascending file size order, or as they appear, unsorted, in the catalog).
In the "USER OPTION" field, the user can specify any characteristic that needs to be displayed as part of the file list, or that must be fulfilled as a selection condition.
In the "DOCUMENTATION" field, the name of a file can be specified to which the list of selected files can be saved.
A "Variable Action" can be defined in the last field of the selection mask. Variable Actions provide the facility for performing a complex set of operations on a group of files, library elements or Job variables.
If the user does not wish to select any data objects for further processing, entering NO in the FILENAME-SELECT field will display the next CFS screen.

With a mouseclick you get a describtion of the screen item.
In this screen, the user is presented with the results of the selection process. All files/library elements/Job variables are displayed which meet the selection criteria.
At the top of the screen is the Command field. Normal BS2000 commands, as well as special CFS commands can be entered here.
Every entry in the file list (file, library element or Job variable) has its own Action Field, to the right of the entry. Actions specific to that data object can be applied by entering a mnemonic Action Code in this field.
As standard, the file list is sorted in ascending sequence on the file name. For information on sorting on other fields, see page 18-.
The last line contains general information about the file list.
P=ppp Position within the file list of the first line displayed on the screen.
T=nnn Total number of entries in this file list.
H=qqq Number of hidden entries (either by Action Codes E or -).

An "Action-Code" can be entered here, e.g P/I/D. The Action Code performs an action for this element, e.g. Print/Inform/Display. With elements of an LMR library, the number of allowable Action Codes is sharply reduced. Only the following are allowed: D/I/P/S/U/X/*/+/-/-P.

With a mouseclick you get a describtion of the screen item.
The "Display Mask" is similar to the CFS Editor mask. The contents of the file, library element or Job variable is displayed in this mask. The user can position the window, as in EDT, up, down, left or right. The data contents can be displayed in a number of different ways (e.g. character or hexadecimal format). The contents can also be modified.
There are no restrictions at all with regard to file format, record length, or file size when processing files with the CFS Editor.
