Installation of the TAR archive in Posix under BS2000

    The installation of CFS / EDT for UNIX should be processed in the following steps:

  1. In Windows/DOS: extract the file posix.tas from zipfile posix.zip

  2. Login under sysroot

  3. Create any installation directory: mkdir cfsin

  4. Change to the installation directory: cd cfsin

  5. Transfer the file posix.tar with openFT to BS2000
    Copy file posix.tar from BS2000 to POSIX: bs2cp bs2:posix.tar posix.tar
    or
    transfer posix.tar directly to POSIX with openFT, FTP or NFS.

  6. Uncompress archive: tar -xvf posix.tar oder pax -rf posix.tar

  7. Copy the newest license files cfs.dat and cfs2.dat into the installation directory.

  8. Start the installation script: ./cfsinstall

  9. The installation directory can be deleted after successfull installation

The program CFS for Posix is started by shell command input: cfs
The program EDT for Posix is started by shell command input: edtx or edtx file

In EDTX and CFS also BS2000 files may be processed, e.g. in EDTX, command READ or in CFS, Actioncode C (Copy) or R (Rename).

The syntax for BS2000 files to use is
bs2:file
or
/BS2/file
